About M.Rodmell
I have gained over 10 years experience working in the Joinery trade.
I began my 'working life' helping out a family member in his own joinery business labouring and finding my feet with all the various tools and techniques required.
I completed my three year apprenticeship working for a larger construction firm, working and learning alongside all other trades including bricklayers, plasterers, plumbers and electricians. Although undertaking a Site Carpentry Apprenticeship I was fortunate enough to be able to gain experience in a joinery workshop at this time and gained vital skills that I can still take onto site now.
During my apprenticeship training my mentor, who had over 40 years experience both on site and within a workshop, taught me all the 'old school' methods of carpentry pre power tools and I was then able to enhance my efficiency by using the power tools to reduce labour time. It was then when I was taught "Do it once, do it right" approach to carrying out my work. I now pride myself on not having to return to jobs small or large due to inappropiate techniques being used.
I have gained experience working to tight schedules for private and commercial landlords as well as homeowners. I have been able to build strong working relationships with other trades within my local area who have the same approach to carrying out their work to result in a quality finish. Images of my most recent projects can be viwed in Project Gallery.
